I woke up yesterday with a scratchy throat & on top of that was aleady working through an uninvited monthly guest- yea, double whammy.
Top 5 ways I deal with ‘her’
1) Keep dark chocolate around
2) Hide it from hubs
3) Dandelion root – water retention
4) Workout – makes you feel better in the end
5) Don’t short myself on sleep
Ok, where was I, oh – I just felt really tired and icky..”off”. I figured that since I had no fever and felt ok that I could head into work no problem. I even made it after work to see my Tampa blogger gals and chat about the Pretty Muddy race coming up on November 10 – good company should always make one feel better eh? I was pretty excited to meet a few of my buds in real life and it’s so funny because we acted like we’d already known each other – ’twas no biggie! We chatted about the race which, we learned, was formed from an idea that some husbands had to get their wives out and able to have a good time – no boys allowed! With the race coming here and to other cities nationwide very soon we discussed what makes women come out to [mud] races and what motivates us. My suggestions of tiaras, Tiffany necklaces, and Go pro cameras may have gone overlooked 😉
Today I woke up still feeling off. My throat was ok, but now my ears felt like someone stuck their fingers in them…and that was the last straw. So, off I went to the doctor today to find out what the dealy was – my asthma was being affected by allergies I wasn’t treating [I’d stopped taking my allergy meds since I thought allergy season was over….it went away for a month and now it’s back for the Fall, awesome!] So, now I’m back on nasal spray and daily antihistamines. I’d initially thought I was sick-sick; I felt weak and tired and icky and bleh. But not flu-like – I was still hungry and kicking. Good thing I decided to chat with the doctor instead of going on to the internet to self-diagnose myself.
