Addicted to the POWER

As part of my mission to beat sugar and eat even MORE good veggies and foods, hubs and I have made a commitment to eating at least one POWERBOWL a day!

 

What is a Powerbowl you ask? Well, I’ll LINK my friend Kasey here who I got the idea from, as she’s the main brain behind these concoctions.

 

They seem so simple, but we’d never thought to make them until now! Not all of ours have been plant-based, but we have been using a RAINBOW of colors and new ingredients that we’d never eaten before – including beets, dried cherries, and nutritional yeast flakes!

 

With good planning and time to make our veggies, we’re on a team mission to eat cleaner!

 

How?

 

 
We roast veggies every Sunday (usually broccoli, cauliflower, kale, and zucchini at least)
 
(yes, those be my toes)
 
We make sure to balance out our proteins and veggies to get clean carbs into our tummies!
 
So, at least once a day, we make a huge powerbowl as a meal – I’ve noticed I have so much more energy getting my minerals and vitamins from plants now! It’s fun getting to make a different one every day too, to boot πŸ˜‰
 
Chillin’ over at Disney, we made sure to stock up on healthy eats too! Powerbowls were a bit of a challenge, but we came pretty close!
 
The folks at Food Should Taste Good hooked me up with these yummy sweet potato chips to try out so I toted them along for the trip! They were super yummy and just the quick fix I needed for healthy snacks on the go! (You can visit these awesome peeps on Twitter and Facebook for more info on their low fat, gluten free chips!)
 
Today I’ll be a shoe guru’s assistant, fitting people for Brooks shoes so they can #runhappy! Brooks hooked me up with a pretty rad outfit …. I mean expo-fit for this glorious occasion too! I hope to meet many peeps there!
 
 
Now time for a shakeout run! Eek!

    i love me some powerbowls!! i eat atleast one a day too!! i havent tried nutritional yeast yet tho! have an amazing time in disney, love! xxoo

    Sorry I could not make it to see you at the Expo…getting nervous for the Goofy Challenge and warm weather so hydrating and relaxing in my room. Hope you enjoyed the Expo…love your purple Brooks shirt!

    I got sooo distracted from your post by the photo with the sweet potato BBQ chips. OMG. Those sweet potato chips are my absolute fave and I HAD NO IDEA THEY MAKE A BBQ FLAVOR! Let the grocery store hunt commence πŸ™‚

    Good luck at Disney! So jealous of all the Disney runners, those races are so fun!

    I’m horrible at veggies!! I’ve tried to keep trying new ones; but I hate them all πŸ˜‰ hehe. Okay, not all.. but I’ve decided it’s best to just stick to the few that I know I do like and try and build up from there when I can.
