Box #2 & a Go H.A.M. Giveaway

Hello from Austin! I’m down to a night before I run Half marathon #5 at the Zooma Half – Women’s running series! I did break my diet on this vacation, like I said earlier this week, as I am in AUSTIN and the eats here at phenomenal!
Yoga downtown? Sure!

Mmmmmmm. Good.

I’m keepin’ ya updated via Instagram and Twitter as always!

Aside from the intermittent BBQ slab and cupcake or donut, I’ve been sure to show down on some eats I brougt with me including my beloved Larabars!

BTW, did you know that Larabar was mentioned on the Biggest Loser as Jillian referred to it as a ‘go-to’ snack?? #HolyCrap she’s a genius! Gluten free and full of flavor, Larabar upped the ante and created Uber bar! With more texture and nuts than Larabar, Uber bar is another snack that is quick and easy to carry and super nutritious to boot! With a balance of fat, protein, and carbs there’s really no thinking with an ΓΌberbar snack!

Larabar also helps me to power through my crosstraining that’s been including crossfit as of late!

Quick and easy deliciousness!

In keeping with the quest to gain more Crossfit knowledge and experience, I’ve been enjoying my time at Box #2, Crossfit BNI. Not only is it 7 minutes from my house but its also had us doing a week of on-ramp classes before we started regular WOD workouts!

Gearing up for the Crossfit Open WOD: 13.2 (I spectated)

What do I like the most? A) The on-ramp week: we learned all types of lifts and form before even starting an actual WOD classB) The staff and instructors are all super friendly and take the time to teach you even as the WOD goes on.C) Progression: workouts are listed for Scaled, Rx, and RTG levels so that everyone an work within their own means, which is encouraged.D) It’s fun! We do games and activities as warmup – oh, to be a kid again!

Hubs even find it customary to get in on the fun!

I found it fitting to wear a shirt that Viewsport sent me to review too!
ViewSPORT’s mission is to motivate and empower all those interested in living healthier and more active lives with a new tool to visibly measure their hard work.

In an old Twitter convo, I’d suggested Viewsport make a “Go HAM” shirt – not knowing it’d come to fruition! I love the fit (I got a small and it fit perfect!) Also, the shirt was comfortably stretchy & moved with me as I worked like a beast through my first WOD. After I was done working out, I fondly remembered to check the back for the sweat-activated message! These shirts have patented technology that shows a “hidden message” once sweat activates it, how cool?!
Will I stay at this box?

I’m going to enjoy learning more and progressing more throughout the 8 classes I’ll be taking here, but I’m still teetering on the cost – I still can’t fathom spending $100+ a month on a gym membership. With all that I’m learning with my CPT courses and other workouts I’ve learned, I see myself using what I’m learning and applying it at my own gym that’s $20 a month. If I was ballin’, it wouldn’t be an issue I guess – or if I trained there πŸ˜‰

Why not Giveaway a 4 pack of Larabar’s delicious treats AND a Viewsport sweat-activated shirt for fits & giggles?!
I’ll be awarding 2 lucky readers!
In case you can’t wait for your sweat-activated motivation, Viewsport is offering a 10% discount on purchases until Sunday night with code ‘1010’

ViewSport sent me a sweat-activated shirt free of charge to review & Larabar sent me Uberbar samples – opinions in this post are my own. They’ve also offered to giveaway another shirt to one of my readers.

What do you look for in a go-to snack and/or crosstraining apparel?
With it being the great fitness trend right now, could you justify spending mucho bucks on a crossfit box membership?

Very cool shirt, love that new “technology” that makes words appear when you sweat! I’ve been paying for CrossFit because it keeps me accountable to workout and I don’t have a membership to another gym so its where I get all of my weight training in (I then run outside).

I did CrossFit a few times and enjoyed the WODs, but like you I couldn’t fathom spending that much on a gym membership. In the town I moved from it was like $65, so manageable but still pricey. Here it’s over $100 everywhere, eek! So, I just incorporate what I’ve learned into my regular workouts.

I would baulk at the cost too. I like my gym too. I was talking to someone yesterday about how we runners get attached to brands. I think it’s great – loyalty, and you know hat what you get works for you. So the Lara Bars and Viewsport tanks – you’re rocking it!

I love the shirt. The idea behind the hidden message is awesome. It reminds me of those solar activated shirts from the 90s. Very cool. It is definitely a reason to sweat. I always have a hard time justifying spending money for a gym membership. If it is not too expensive, it is easy to agree to because I realize that’s just one dinner out a month with my boyfriend and that isn’t hard to deal with. (I prefer cooking at home anyway). But when it comes to a large amount of money for a specific training program, it is easy for me to justify not doing it, especially if I have the equipment available elsewhere and the know-how. Crossfit is a special type of workout that is amazing but could easily be substituted or created as a variation elsewhere.
