Motivational Monday – Hot Dog! + Featured Sneakers #47

Haaaaaaaaappy Monday!

So, yesterday I was a bit cray and dressed up as a banana for the Women’s Racing Series – St Petersburg Women’s Half at the Best Damn Race’s Cheer Squad station! What a blast cheering for runners in a race that I just did last year as my first half!

I’ll be running the 10k at the Best Damn Race Safety Harbor next February – check our this awesome race series HERE!

Yup, that would be me on top of the truck with my trusty companion Beth as my signage 😉
I got to see these ladies in town from Orlando – Callie & Katy – Go Katy with your 5k PR!!

My view from atop the Best Damn Race truck was AMAZING!

We had a blast cheering on runners at miles 1 and 7.5 – I got hugs from lots of pals and tons of laughs at my expense, which I was TOTALLY okay with! We had shirtless UT swimmer boys and lost our voices – a job well done!

For Motivational Monday, this week’s Featured Sneakers belong to Keyona, a fellow Sweatpink sister who’s a new mom trying to get back into the fitness game! She’s got caviar wishes and race dreams – well not 100% sure if she likes caviar – and is on track to accomplish them like a BOSS!

Name: Keyona
Blog: http://skinnyanddelicious.blogspot.com/

What is your favorite way to workout/exercise: My favorite workout is running and BodyPump.

What is your #1 cheat food: Fro-yo vanilla with strawberries, brownie bites and sprinkles J

Doesn’t that sound amazing!

What advice do you have for those starting on a fitness journey: Do you research and take it slow. The pounds aren’t going to come off in a week and you won’t be able to run a half marathon in 2 weeks. Just take your time and you will get there. Also, you need to believe in yourself.

Dream destination race/location: I have been dreaming of doing the Disney World Princess Half Marathon for about 2 years now! I want to try and do it 2015. Also I would love to do the Chicago Women’s Half Marathon next year. One day I would love to do a triathlon too.

Favorite inspirational fitness personality/trainer: Olivia Ward. She was on Biggest Loser Season 11. I started watching the show during season 11 and she really stuck out to me. She was becoming the person I wanted to be. Soon after her show and seeing her win the title of the Biggest Loser. I decided I wanted to lose weight and get fit. I lost 50 pounds and started running after that. I just had a baby so I’m starting all over again but still look at her for my inspiration!

Workout apparel must have (+brand): I’m not really picky on what brands of workout gear. I wear a ton of Wal-Mart, Target and Old Navy. But the pieces I always have to have are a good head band that stays in place. Like Brady Bands and my shoes are really important to me. I wear Brooks Pure Connect and once I ran my first race in them I was hooked and can’t run without them now!

Motivational motto/quote: “If you run, you are a runner. It doesn’t matter how fast or how far. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for twenty years. There is no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. You just run.” John Bingham.

You just don’t see that many wieners at races these days. Well, at least people dressed up as them. 🙂

    Nice to meet you Keyona!

You allow it to be seem to be very easy together with your speech but I uncover this particular issue being genuinely an element that I’m sure I might never ever understand. It seems also complex and incredibly large personally. I will be looking onward with your subsequent set up, I’m going to seek to get the hang on to of the usb ports!
