Monday’s Motivation #5

Happy Monday! Can you believe we’re about to CLOSE OUT February?! Ah!

This weekend was all about packing and moving – again – but also remaining positive for good things to come!

Positivity BREEDS positivity!

For Monday’s Motivation we have Amy! She’s a runner girl who also loves to cross train and focus on fitness in a multitude of ways! She’s been a challenger in my #AugustCoreFocus and #Just1Thing Challenges and motivates others by holding herself accountable!

What is your favorite way to workout/exercise MOVE! I love to RUN, but I’m also enjoying some new classes like SurfSet and Booty Barre. These sweat sessions burn tons of calories and challenge me in new ways.

What is your #1 indulgence? Aside from the occasional treat, how do you substitute it? Hmm, I try not to think of food as an indulgence, but I do like something sweet occasionally. I’ve found a cup of Cinnamon Rice Chex cereal usually hits the spot!

What’s your go-to snack? My go-to snack lately has been White Cheddar rice cakes. I’m a chip girl and these are low calorie, almost guilt-free πŸ˜‰

What advice do you have for those starting on a fitness journey? First and foremost, don’t compare yourself to others. Focus on what YOU can do and go for it. Pushing yourself too far, too soon can lead to injury. 


Bucket list destination/race/to-do? I would love to do an international race – anywhere will do πŸ˜‰

Favorite inspirational fitness personality/trainer/idol? I really admire anyone who gets out there and works on being fit and healthy. It’s not easy and life gets in the way, so when I see someone working hard to achieve his/her goals, I’m inspired!

What workout apparel is your MUST have? I must have my Mizunos! Best shoes I’ve ever worn. I’m also a fan of Oiselle shorts and Athleta tights. 

What do you wish you knew years ago that you know now? The 10% rule – I would have avoided so many injuries if I had just taken my time in the beginning. Even now, after sitting on the sidelines, it can be tempting to jump back in too fast. I’ve learned to be patient.

    Oh patience….a character trait that sometimes is not in evidence in my world. With two small injuries (one from tennis, one from TRX class) I had to take a break from activities and it was hard. Being smart about training has come to me gradually, and so far so good. (knock on wood) International races are on my bucket list too Amy, especially the London Marathon!

    OMG I used to LOVE those white cheddar rice cakes! I could eat bags and bags and bags until I get the craziest stomach ache EVER! πŸ˜‰
