The 21 Day Fix Results – Success breeds Inspiration!

I talked about my experience starting the 21 Day Fix HERE. After our awesome time experiencing the YUMMY side of Austin, I decided to take turn this into a 28 Day Fix – and get back on track another week after our trip to regroup! We DID make some smart choices in Austin and made sure to share a lot to watch portions.
Then there were moments we had wayyyyy to many “yellows” (a.k.a. Carbs) in the form of Austin goodies and sweets.
BUT once home, I made a quick trip to the store and immediately food prepped so we had healthier goods in the fridge ready to get back into the week at work on a positive note.

Workouts haven’t ever been the issue with me. I LOVE IT. I LOVE the feeling I get when I get home from work and can let endorphins take over, making me stronger and sweaty and SUPER STELLAR!
FOOD is the main thing I can trip up over – le sigh – so the focus continues on with that – NO doubt!
How’d I do though?
By the way, posting any results or before/after photos is nervewrecking! It’s always scary to be judged or looked at BUT if I could motivate one person to try something new – to focus on THEM to be better in any way possible – it’s ALL worth it in the end.
I didn’t lose any POUNDS – which no biggie at ALL! I’m already semi-petite and wasn’t shooting for pounds lost, always inches and muscle tone – and that’s just what I got! I always stress for people to focus on changing their BODY COMPOSITION – more lean mass means more muscle burning fat down the road for the long haul! I LOST 10 INCHES ALL OVER! My waist, arms, hips, legs, all lost inches over the 28 day time span! I surprised myself! I even measured twice then three times with another measuring tape just to be sure! I mostly noticed a difference in how my jeans fit – perfectly without anything hanging over YAY. Also, my posture and back has gotten better with a renewed focus on yoga through ‘The Fix’ and in general with stretching.
I am SO much stronger and for that I am GRATEFUL!
* Easier focus on portions even for veggies and proteins so I ate less but more throughout the day
* Easy color-coded measuring/carrying containers
* Fun varied workouts easily incorporated into the week
*Shakeology has helped me get in an easy but EFFECTIVE breakfast daily and I owe a lot of my inches lost to it!
* Freebies like mustard and balsamic vinegar add TONS of flavor to food
* Creativity was encouraged for meal prep each week to keep it all fresh
* I love sweets. It’s a problem. I know it. I am retraining myself to rarely eat them, see them as a treat, work them off, substitute them.
* Alcohol on vacation and weekends needs to be reeled in. It’s a treat like sweets, but not in excess.
All-in-All I LOVE recommending this program to people especially those wanting to focus on a multitude of workouts that are easy and under 30 minutes while also targeting their nutrition! SUCCESS is measured through victories NOT related to a scale, but related to how you feel and how you measure up in regards to muscle versus fat! I have had TONS of energy since I started Shakeology and now have that much more from drinking a ton of water and eating proper amounts of veggies and clean foods daily.
What now? I keep what I’ve learned in my back pocket, focusing on food portions and being aware of what I eat and when to FUEL my BODY! I also wanted to share another motivating SUCCESS STORY from a Beachbody family member of mine, Heather H.! Heather started out feeling overweight, unhealthy, having some chronic health issues she struggled with before she decided to TURN THE PAGE and make a change! She focused and FOUGHT hard from start to finish multiple Beachbody programs (Including Insanity Asylum and 21 Day fix most recently – she’s got workout A.D.D. like me!) along with taking Shakeology and has shown incredible results! She was part of a Challenge group early on as well (accountability group of peers like the ones I do monthly) and focused on fulfilling her DESTINY to lead a healthier and happier life! It was never instantaneous, but over the course of a year she lost over 70 lbs & 72 inches !

    Great results-it is a brave thing to post photos online but you look great! I have the same hiccups as you. I’m trying to limit alcohol to the weekends and keep my sweet tooth in check!

    This program is totally awesome! My girlfriend saw just as much of a drastic change with her experience too. I have a feeling I’ll be doing this postpartum.

    Nice work! Dialing in the nutrition is a toughie for me too. In the weeks leading up to a race, I’m very diligent about it, but if I don’t have a race on the near horizon (like now), then it’s tougher to make the best choices–like eating a coworker’s Starbursts. 🙂

    I am so impressed with your results. 10 inches and you can see such a change in your photos. I am definitely going to adjust my diet a bit more in the next few months….I have such a sweet tooth and Easter candy is still lingering around my house!

    Wow – super inspiring! Regarding sweets, if you have chocolate cravings you might be magnesium deficient. I increased my magnesium because of migraines and leg cramps and realized after a few months that I no longer craved chocolate (& I’d been a chocoholic my whole life)

    WOW. Great work Kat & Heather! WHOA!!! I really need to watch my sugar intake. My activity level has decreased a fair bit but my appetite for treats has not and that has contributed to some unwanted inches around my midsection. Those need to go STAT!!!
