HOORAY for the OFF-SEASON! It’s time to refocus on new goals (later in the Fall) and also get back to crosstraining to include flexibility and strength as my focus! It’s also time to unwind a little – while fitness is is a huge part of my life, so should relaxing and working out my mind!
Areas I’m focusing on have been my CORE strength and getting LOOSE with Flexibility! I’ve been doing at least 10 minutes a day of either 21 Day Fix Abs, Insanity rounds that include core strength, and/or T25 Dynamic Core (ouch!) and have even started to incorporate yoga into my week so that my trunk is strong!
So, this week I’ve been focusing on my balance and stability by getting back into yoga and enhancing my range of motion! I took a Hot Flow Class with a friend on Wednesday which was a nice welcome break to the usual high speed/high intensity workouts I was used to doing lately.
Helping our muscles get loose goes right in hand with letting loose! This is definitely a BIG part of the off-season too right? Well, without going too crazy 😉 My favorite way to Let loose is to hang out with friends and family! Either out on a boat, or at the beach, or at a park, or at dinner – connecting with others makes me relax and not be so tightly wound – OCD much? That way, I can unplug and let go of what’s been stressful during the week and spend time with the people that matter most in my life!
