After a 36 hour roadtrip with lots of life lessons along the way, we’ve made it to our new home in Las Vegas, Nevada!
October will be filled with NEW BEGINNINGS and learning our way around – but that challenge can only change us for the good, right?
Gary and I have been together for over 5 years. Right out of the gate, he knew I loved to travel. That has always been the one part of our lives where we ‘splurge’ … we’re not THINGS people, but EXPERIENCES PEOPLE.
We have both been born and raised in Florida and knew that the day would come where we took an adventure together….to grow individually and together….to learn more and be thrown into a situation that we could only get through together…
Movers came on September 19, and we started our trek to Las Vegas on September 28… Jaeden, Gary, myself, and our friend Lex!
We stopped in Monroe, LA on Day 1 and then in Albuquerque, NM Day 2 … we were ready to get to our new home! Luckily our friend Lex was along for the drive and was my workout partner EVERY morning – NO EXCUSES, right?
Gary and I have wanted to relocate for quite some time now. We wanted to live somewhere to explore new surroundings, be outside more for hiking and new trails…Vegas was also within a price range where we could rent somewhere and try living out on the West coast. Initially we thought Austin, TX but that area soon outgrew itself and we decided to follow our intuition with the Vegas steps lining up perfectly for each of us!
We’re about 2 weeks in and already feeling at home. I already had to nest the entire house which helps a lot and have a new routine. It doesn’t hurt to have a friend who’s lived across the country now be your workout buddy every morning too! I had to admit I’ve even fallen back in love with RUNNING! I don’t do it every single day and I throw in a lot of walking, BUT with views like this and much thinner air, I could get used to entertaining the idea of a race one day soon…
I’ll get back into blogging more regularly soon, but I know that priorities need to be balanced and having NEVER lived in another state besides Florida, we have a lot of growing to do 😉
How has a BIG MOVE changed your life for the better?
