If you’re a dude who doesn’t like when chicks get into heavy detail about their monthly visitor, then this Week in Training may not be your cup of tea.
Didn’t I just have a freaking period?
It seems like every time I have a menstrual cycle, I feel like my previous one JUST ended! Being pregnant and then breastfeeding probably spoiled me and gave me a mental block from it before it returned post-baby. Even though I did hop on the Mirena train last year after being cleared post-pregnancy, there’s always the occasional pain-in-the-ass period that knocks me on my a**! Sometimes, I even skip the “Shark Week” side of things and just want to eat all of the Caramel M & M’s I can! … stupid sweet tooth.
Recently, my training outline during this cycle looks like this –
Sunday – Easy Run/Hike + a 30-45 min easy Peloton Ride + #10ADayWithKat moves
Monday – 30 Minutes of Core stability Metabolic Conditioning + 45 min hard Peloton Ride + #10ADayWithKat moves
Tuesday – 20 Minutes of Strength Complex Training + 30-45 min easy Peloton Ride + #10ADayWithKat moves
Wednesday – 20 Minutes of Core stability + 2 miles with the pup + 45 min Moderate Peloton Ride + #10ADayWithKat moves
Thursday – 45 min easy Peloton Ride + easy hiking/walking+ #10ADayWithKat moves
Friday – 10 Minutes of Circuit Training + 45 min hard Peloton Ride+ #10ADayWithKat moves
Saturday – 60 Minutes of Endurance on Peloton+ #10ADayWithKat moves

All things Peloton this week
Rides definitely felt more POWERFUL this week for sure! After a LMT appointment, my tight quad is releasing some train on my left hammie so I hope it’ll help me utilize all of my firing engines in both legs more efficiently!
Sidenote: When’s the last time YOU had a massage? Not the relaxing kind, but the kind to work out the kinks from your workouts to help you recover and come back better than ever??
We’re all stocked up on Honey Stinger fuel, so they’ve also been my go-to for longer endurance rides and to ensure G & I have enough glycogen for those types of aerobic workouts on the bike!
Mama is balancing like a BOSS
Runs with Tayler have been way more focused on the pure enjoyment of our time together, beating the June heat (hello, 100-degree temperatures already!), and not even caring about paces or speeds. With my new AFAA gig and travel plans on the horizon, I’m focused on getting in the more efficient workouts I can without additional wear & tear on my body that’ll set me back from staying forward-moving.
The Mini Trainer is proving to be a busy bee, like her mama, and shows a strong desire to keep her brain soaking in new lessons. She’s nailed her colors and is on to numbers. So, much of my time between work and life is spent enjoying using real-life experiences to teach her all about her 1-2-3’s!
