Sunday, after I’d had a chance to relax after a muddy Saturday and long run that morning, I waited for hubs to get back from the Bucs game so that we could head to Datz for a big Yelp party I’d been looking forward to for a while now: Livin’ La Vida Local – our community manager Brett always knows how to put on a great event so I was excited!
I even busted out the straight hair for the occasion!
My, how it’s grown!
We arrived around 6pm, luckily finding a close parking spot, and were pleasantly surprised with the huge turnout and red carpet welcome!

Right when we got into line, we found just about everyone from the Tampa Bay Lady Bloggers crew – and most of us brought our mens! We are some crazy, muddy, Yelping, peeps!
Much like the Outback event we’d gone to last month, food samples were a’plenty as we explored the restaurants’ tasting stations on the first and second floors.

Are we some spoiled Yelpers or what?!
First up, was the chicken in waffle cone bar. Holy cow, why didn’t I think of this like last year?? Waffle cones with a single-sized piece of fried chicken, only to be topped off by maple syrup and hot sauce. My first tasting at the party, and my favorite. Hands down.
Thoughout the evening, tried each of the hors d’oeuvres and splurged on the tasty drink menu too: the cider and white cosmo were my faves.
Fun facts you read when heading to the bathroom:

There were Twitter contests throughout the week and I was pretty excited to win on Friday for my tweet about Datz sammiches, using their awesome names:
