Thankful Thursday – Helping Sandy Victims

Particularly around Thanksgiving, it’s always great to reflect and take time to be thankful for the things that we do have. Lord knows we should always appreciate what we have daily!

So today, while I am thankful for all the positivity I have in my life & I want the focus to be on those who still need our help with some ways we can give!

The American Red Cross is still taking donations to help the Hurricane Sandy victims from this past weekend. Also, now not only are they recovering from that storm and rebuilding, but they are awaiting a snow storm on their door step. To Donate, click HERE – any amount big or small can make a big difference!

Crazy Running Girl did a post on a post for a Virtual Run to help the victims of Sandy

With a minimum donation of $10, you can go to the link above to register to run in the month of November – there are also prizes to be won as well & all proceeds would go to the American Red Cross too! Nothing like a great, virtual run, for a great cause!
(In lieu of speedwork – don’t need any injuries right now with my hip flexor needing a break- I decided to run 6 easy miles this morning and those were the ones I used for this virtual run)
I’m excited to help paint a home for Habitat for Humanity tomorrow and know that they are playing a big part in the relief efforts in NY and NJ. More to come on that tomorrow!
Don’t forget to take the time you have to be thankful for all you have – the rest is just water under the bridge 😉
What are you thankful for this week? How has this Hurricane affected you?

Great post, Kat! I went to Staten Island on Sunday to help out, and the grassroots initiative I volunteered with (NY Runners in Support of SI) is planning another trip(s) this weekend. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make it because my family is visiting, but I’m sure there will be many opportunities in the upcoming weeks and months to lend a hand.

I love this post, Kat (gave it a shout out on my FB page yesterday) and I love what runners are doing to help. I need to look into the run.
