Thankful Thursday – he’s still milkin’ it

Yay, Hubs is finally making great progress!
Thanks to you all for your happy thoughts and prayers and well-wishes … he actually read them all and thought “hey, these people who my wife talks to online really are pretty cool!” πŸ˜‰
Thursday when we’d gotten home from the surgery center was the worst of the recovery days. I had to go into work while hubs slept off the anethesia, but he also got really nauseous and sick most of that day.
Friday, I took a 1/2 day to check in on him and he was feeling so much better! A call to the doctor and he was able to do some at home PT…ALREADY!…and work on icing and heat therapy as well.
“Yes” that’s where you should stick him?
Since they went in laproscopically, the surgeon only wanted Gar down a day before he tried to use the time on painkillers (awesome) to work on stretching out the tissue that needed the mobility. By Saturday, Gar said he was to put full-weight on that ankle. He was told to work it as hard as he could to try to ‘tear’ the piece of tissue that was limiting the movement…ouch!
Sunday, that happened. I was super grossed out – awesomesauce. But, progress is being made, and I’m hoping and praying that it continues and he’ll be able to run again before we know it! (I just hope that this time when the doctor says to try it out for a quarter mile that he takes it easy. I shouldn’t catch him running on a 5k route outside as I drive home from work – oh yeah, he’s been busted before.)
I’m so very thankful for this! {Happy Dance}
OOh and in other thankful Thursday mentions:
I made it into the 2012-2013 Progressive Biennial Art Collection! My company does a biannual art show featuring employee art and I hadn’t made it in the whole time I’ve worked there … my work didn’t fit what the curators were looking for {shrug.} This year was my year! I submitted this piece and it made it into the collection – I get to ship it out to be in a traveling exhibit soon!
“Nerves” (acrylic/charcoal on canvas) 2011
I won the Warrior Dash Twitter Chat and got free entry into the Lake Wales event on February 2, 2013! Mud Virgin no more! First Pretty Muddy, then Warrior Dash! I can’t wait! Thanks FitFluential & Warrior Dash!
– So many other cool opportunities are coming up soon and I can’t wait to recap them with you guys! Stay tuned!

ο»ΏWhat are you thankful for??

    Great job on getting your husband into recovery so fast. I know you had a hand in it..LOL. I hope he is running and playing real soon. I am thankful for a great race on Sunday and that I didn’t fall off my bike and that my recovery was fast enough to allow me to run 8.5 miles this morning. I know it is trivial, but I’ll save the heavy stuff for next week.
