Great Laces can make a marathon!

Happy Friday peeps!

Funny story:

This past Christmas I bought hubs a new pair of running shoes and along with it got him LOCK LACESβ„’ so that his shoes were secured and kept his ankle locked in (since he is still rehabing it from a prior injury.)
I also got a pair for myself to try out, thinking “what the heck.” Most laces I’d tried were too long since I have little Flintstone feet anyway making triple-knotting my friend. Hubs helped me put them in & followed the easy instructions so I could try them out right away on an easy run. I immediately fell in love! I checked to see if hubs did the same with his laces and asked if he wanted to do his too. “I’ll do it in a little bit,” he said.
He ended up letting them sit there…
So, a couple of weeks later I took it upon myself to steal them from him. I now had these awesome laces in all of the shoes I used for my running rotation. What a wonderful wife I am right? Believe me, I owe hubs big time and won’t live down being the lace-thief πŸ˜‰

Pure Cadence 2s + Lock Laces = a stellar combo!
Why do I dig em?
Back when I ended up with a ganglion cyst from shoes that didn’t fit me right, I had to lace my shoes weird directions so that the top of my foot didn’t hurt. Over time, I’ve noticed that it’s a pain to lace my laces just right – so they’re not too loose or too tight. Add to that that I have little feet, and most laces are too long – triple-knotting isn’t the best use of my time. Lock Laces are fit to however you choose to fit them (easy directions are a runners’ best friend) and are thin enough to make slipping sneakers on and off easy!
PLUS the company has shown that they value their lace-lovers with a
wonderful offer they’ve extended to me:
Lock Laces has been awesome enough to help me with my Marathon journey!
Using the LOCK LACESβ„’ button in my right sidebar or going directly to their website, you can check out laces for yourself! (3 packs are usually offered at $19.99!)
Then, with the code: TLT4C
you’ll get free shipping & LOCK LACESβ„’ Gives Back 20% of the proceeds to The Little Things for Cancer throughout the time I’m training for the Marine Corp Marathon!
(For those of you who don’t know, that top button, the Team TLT4C links to my story where I’m raising money for this awesome organization to lead me on the path to running the Marine Corp Marathon as my first full marathon! I’m currently around $400 and am shooting to go back $1000 come race time!)
* Lock Laces sent me complimentary laces to try, but I’d already had 4 pairs of my own previously & opinions on the product and the review are all my own.
Have you tried these?
Would you, especially if proceeds go to charity and help me run my first marathon for charity?
Do a million color options for laces tickle your fancy?

I haven’t tried lock laces, but have tried a similar product. My Brooks ST5s kept coming unlaced so I went to REI and got shoes laces like Lock Laces. Problem solved! I actually ran 5 miles of a 1/2 marathon with my foot coming out of my ST5 because the laces were coming undone. I couldn’t stop and lose my momentum! Ha. I am going to go and check out the site now. Thanks for sharing. πŸ™‚

I have been thinking about trying out some sort of easy laces. This is the perfect opportunity to do so!

Quick question for you…how do the Pure Cadence 2 fit for you? I have the Pure Cadence and am thinking of going up a half size for my next pair. They bug my toes on long runs. Do the 2’s fit the same?

I think that the 2 s are a big snugger mid foot than their predecessor, but in a good way. I do wear a bigger aPc2 than other sneaker sizes. I did a review u can check out too with pure cadence 2 as the topic word πŸ™‚

I used stretchy laces for my triathlon, which made it easy to slip my shoes on after the swim. Never tried lock laces- great review!

I love lock laces! I’ve been using them since I started. First couple runs in a new pair take a minute to get set and adjusted to be on point for my feet, but I really do love them. I love not having to tie up every time. Plus during triathlon season, it’s the best!!

I’ve never tried these but I remember how much I loved those elastic shoe laces (that were curled on the ends) as a kid and how they kept my shoes on well. I was wondering if it would be annoying to have the end flopping around when you run, but is there a way to tuck it in? In that picture I don’t see the longer end part hanging out. I like the colors they have too!

Yes, they work the same πŸ˜‰ I cut them so that part isn’t as long – so you can make them fit just long enough to slip on and off like I do πŸ˜‰
