Designer Whey’s NEW Sustained Energy blend

I just got back from another longer [thank I’m used to] midweek run – an 8 mile tempo run – and I think I might have gone too fast as the Florida sun was trying to come out and get me! I’m happy to be done and to have some of this stuff waiting for me to refuel!

My favorite mixers (for a quick shake) are almond milk & flax that I’ve been shaking lately with the new Designer Whey Sustained Energy blend!

I’d done a post previously about my experience with Designer Whey through working with Fitfluential and was very pleased with the product line and variety.

Designer Whey had a new line of Sustained Energy products that not only supply the body with protein to repair and feed muscles post-exercise for recovery, but also include their specifically formulated & proprietary Endurance Blend™.

Disclaimer: I received Designer Whey Sustained Energy protein to sample and review in this post through Fitfluential. All opinions in this post are my own.

Designed to give you balanced, stimulant-free, sustained energy through fast absorbing whey protein and slower absorbing soy and casein proteins, giving you a steady supply of essential amino acids while helping you control hunger with fiber.  Packed with 16 grams of protein, 5 grams of fiber and 19 Essential Vitamins & Minerals and naturally flavored and sweetened – all for only 100-good-for-you calories!

Oh hey Brit-Brit!

Featured in Shape Magazine, Designer Whey had a protein shake recipe listed that included pineapple that I’m itching to try.

Stress, high sugar diets, dehydration, lack of sleep, and meal skipping are all major causes of LOW ENERGY! We all know we don’t have time for that!

I decided to immediately try out this product post-run after a 12 miler I’d run in the heat and humidity that can only be Florida. Oh, and added my favorite summertime fruit: Watermelon!

Watermelon Designer Whey [Sustained Energy] Summer Smoothie:
1 Scoop DWSE protein powder
1 1/2 cups almond milk (unsweetened vanilla)
1 tbs ground flax seed
1 cup chopped watermelon (take seeds out!)
Mix in blender and enjoy! Wha-la!

Verdict: This protein blends very easily, tastes fabulous, and definitely gave me my
UMPH back post-workout!

I love the balance of carbs and protein in DWSE blend and it’s sure to help you feel full while giving you energy to get through the day!

Do you look for your protein to give you a little kick in the day, especially post-workout?

I need to try this. Since I’m fairly new to protein powder I’m trying to figure what I like the best. Can you get it at Whole Foods?

That smoothie with watermelon sounds very tasty. I also use protein powder, but the “About Time” brand.

I love my normal Designer Whey I got through FFA and used it all. Can you tell much of a difference between the Sustained Energy?

My energy levels start tapering off around 3-4 p.m., so I usually snack on some almonds or Greek yogurt. I’ve also been doing protein smoothies in the mornings a lot, especially now that it’s hot, hot, HOT outside. 😉

I love designer whey, but I haven’t tried the sustained energy. I really need to get on that, because I am sure it’s amazing! I love almond milk as my mixer too! im curious why you choose that over normal milk. are you lactose? prefer the taste or flavor more? like the nutritional stats better? I am not lactose or anything, but once I tried it I never wanted to go back to cow milk!!! I just love the taste so much better, and I personally like the nutritional stats! lol

I haven’t tried Designer Whey yet, but everyone is loving it! Nice work on your mid-week 8 miler, too!

I haven’t ever gotten in protein powder… yet. The more I hear about it, the more tempted I am. I just get over whelmed with all of the options out there.
