Disneyland Racecation: #DumboTweetUp & meetups

Where to even begin with the Disneyland Racecation posts?!

Let’s start with some meetups & the #DumboTweetUp!

We got into Disneyland around lunchtime (Pacific Time) on Friday before the 10k Saturday. I knew we had to head over to Krissy’s Cupcake Meetup & also dash over to Disneyland Hotel for the Expo to get our packets!

I was so happy to meet Krissy a few weeks back when we hung out and shopped for the day so ran over to give her a big HUG and then on to the expo!

At the expo, I was able to meet up with Lori and Michelle (The Purely Twins) as I grabbed another Raw Threads Disney tank – they’re so cute and adorable! Let’s also not forget my favorite Run Disney race announcer Carissa! She was sure to remind runners to hydrate as they walked around the expo!

In the promise land!

 Packets – check!
A little out of it from our coast-to-coast flight, we got comfy in the hotel (I always have to nest and unpack when I get to a new place) and then walked down to Downtown Disney – I’ll go into it more in a post about our stay, but WHAT a difference in size. This is NOT a dig at Disneyland at all but actually a PLUS. We were able to walk everywhere – no shuttles needed!
I had a meetup with RunDisney at the House of Blues after we stopped for dinner and was able to see two of my favorite ladies: Shannyn & Heather. I hadn’t met Heather until this trip but she’s been my Disney travel agent since the beginning of the year! It was like we’d known each other all along – the fun part of meeting blends in real life 😉 Shannyn and I were roomies at Fitbloggin just this past June!

The day of the 10k, was the #DumboTweetup! Planned along with @PavementRunner & @SeeSharpRun – the 3 of us wanted to get as many tweeters together as we could since many of us were coming from all over the country for race weekend!

TL: Heather, TR: Danielle & Krissy, Bottom: Melissa, Carrie & PR

Had a BLAST hosting with Pavement Runner and See Sharp Run!
Hosting this Tweetup with these guys was a blast! We were able to raffle off prizes that included tons of running gear and we were able to put names with faces we’d seen on Twitter for some time now!
Getting to hang out with these two crazy kids was so much fun – I’m happy to have made 2 more friends through this lovely internet machine!  We all immediately connected – one quirky happy FUNKY BUNCH!
Meetups/People are my favorite part of race weekends! I almost forget about the running part 😉

Sounds so fun! I wish I could have gone! Just wasn’t in the cards for me this year…and I know why now. Because I got a new job! God knew what he was doing when it sold out before I had a chance to register! I wouldn’t have been able to take the time off from my new job. Can’t wait for the rest of your recaps!!!
