Viva Las Vegas! What we did + a winner + ((Black Friday-Cyber Monday Deal info!))

While in Vegas, we were able to take in the sights of the city while we were in town for the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon!
Little did we know that Saturday night [at our hotel,] there was a HUGE MMA fight going down! After looking at ticket prices we bowed out of going, but G enjoyed faking our presence there 😉

We enjoyed our stay at the MGM Grand and also our ability to head over on the Monorail to the expo and other spots on the strip! With our Rock n’ Roll runner perks, we got 3-day passes for $18! Totally worth it to save our legs from too much walking pre-race!

We got to meet and see a lot of cool peeps – some I’d met before and others for the first time!
I knew SR would be at the expo on Saturday, so I stopped by to say hello to her at the Pro Compression booth! She was so sweet and said “Kat right? From Sneakers and..”? [FYI a new blog name is coming since this isn’t the first time that’s happened lol] We were able to talk about her speedy races, her plan for the marathon, and with her encouraging us as G was running his first half. I’m so glad to have finally met one of the first bloggers that I followed before becoming one myself!
That night, we finally ventured off of the strip over to Miller’s Ale House for my first Further Faster Forever meet up! Megan (a buddy from Instagram) told me about the meet up and I thought it’d be a great chance for me to meet and also catch up with some peeps I hadn’t gotten a chance to get with yet!

I got to bump into a Team Run Disney friend, Joe, who ended up bringing my Run Disney medal hanger he made for me! (I donated to his marathon charity in exchange – what a steal!) G even commented that this was the funnest meet up he’d been to with me – whoa. Everyone was so down to earth, fun, and there were even giveaways! Swag included a Run Emz shaker cup that I now sleep with every night in hopes that I can obtain at least an ounce of her awesomeness ðŸ˜‰
The day of the race, we were able to meet up with Mr. SeeSharpRun! After our Tweet up at Disneyland, we quickly became homies and planned to see each other when we were both in Vegas – and are now attached at the hip planning more future meet ups.
We ended up being able to switch our corrals from 20 to 13 and hang out with SSR and his friend Jen. The time flew by before we were off to run the strip! He’s definitely one of my favorites and is stuck with me!
Monday after the race, we were able to meet up with my other Tweet up buddy, Pavement Runner and his wife. He was crazy awesome enough to run the RNR San Antonio half the morning BEFORE the RNR Las Vegas FULL – he so cray.

After we ventured around through some of the casinos and out of Ceasar’s Palace, we were even able to meet up with Mile Posts! We’d also been Instagram pals for a while now and I’d been inspired by her after her Women’s Running feature and learning she trains with her 3 children in a triple stroller!
Vegas was fun to explore both in the day and at nighttime – there is such a huge difference in the atmostphere and look of the strip when comparing times of day too.
What a difference twinkly lights make!

This city definitely doesn’t SLEEP! A funny is that we tried to go OUT like two people should in Vegas – signing up for a few VIP lists and seeing some of our favorite DJs were going to be in different clubs. Our bed time never made it past 11pm our entire time in Vegas – OOPS. We tried, but that time change and focusing on the race pooped us out. Oh well, we were able to see an AWESOME show at least!
Full of martial arts choreography and people jumping and climbing on walls, all angles of the Ka Theatre were used to amaze! When back in Vegas, I want to see another Cirque du Soleil show like O or Mysterie for sure!
What have you done when in Vegas?
Is the “City that never sleeps” your kind of scene?

I’ve been to Vegas 4 times and never knew there was a monorail. I’ve seen both O and Mysterie and both are outstanding. I’m not a huge martial arts fan, so Ka was never an interest to me. Mysterie is a lot of acrobatics, which I love, and the music is so fabulous. I need to convince my hubby to go back soon.

I saw O when I was in Vegas, and it is DEFINITELY something you should go to! Also, when you’re in Orlando next, go see La Nouba in Downtown Disney. It’s really cool!

Is it weird that I have never been to Vegas? I live 4 hours (I think?) away yet for some reason, Vegas doesn’t REALLY appeal to me, well… The only thing about Vegas that makes me want to go are the EPIC (or so I have been told) BUFFETS! Yes please. But then I feel like I would gain 9437987 pounds in 2 days! LOL!

You’ll have to come back and do Vegas again on a non-running weekend. I promise, it makes a difference. 🙂 LOVED LOVED LOVED getting to meet you finally! xoxo

Vegas looks like so much fun. I’d love to run that race one year. When I get out there I want to see as many of the Cirque shows as possible!
