Monday’s Motivation #50 + back home!

Back to life for sure today! What a fun-filled birthday weekend!

Many of you already have seen through Instagram, but we just got back from a weekend away at Universal Studios Orlando! We were able to stay at the lovely Royal Pacific hotel and enjoy ALL SORTS of fun at the parks –  including the Macy’s Holiday Parade AND my surprise at the Blue Man Group show!

Who cut the photo line? She did! No, she did!
There was even a 10k run and quickie hotel workout yesterday – it didn’t completely make up for ‘enjoying’ the weekend, but hey it happened 😉

It was a fun, albeit QUICK it seems, getaway – but nothing like coming back to the usual to get you in gear for Motivational Monday!

This week’s Featured Sneakers Monday Motivation comes from Annie, a fellow Sweatpink sister who LOVES to power lift – motivating others to not only be beautiful but also to be STRONG!

What is your favorite way to workout/exercise: (running, crossfit, etc what is it?!) Weight training specifically powerlifting but I also really love circuit training as well.

What is your #1 cheat food: (be honest 😉 Pizza wins, hands down!  I love mine with thin, crispy crust, lots of cheese and a little sauce.  Can I add a dessert?  If I can I’d pick dessert pizza.  Cinnamon streusel…… yum-o

What advice do you have for those starting on a fitness journey: (What can you share with others from your own journey?) Starting and staying committed to a clean diet and workout routine is hard. If it were easy, everyone would do it. There will be great days and really tough days but I promise it’s worth it.  As Tom Hanks says in my favorite movie, A League of Their Own, “The hard is what makes it great.”

Dream destination race/location: (dream big!) I’m not a distance runner, or runner at all really but doing anything in Europe would be cool.

Favorite inspirational fitness personality/trainer: (if you have one) Oh man!  Where do I start?!  The girls over at Girls Gone Strong are pretty amazing.  As far as celebrity trainer, I’d have to say Bob Harper.  I know it sounds a little cliche but I love his balance between listening empathetically and kicking your butt. 🙂

Workout apparel must have (+brand): (what brands and pieces do you HAVE to have?) OLD NAVY!  I’m dead serious!  I have everything from lulu (although they are great, just pricey) to Underarmour, to Nike and I love Old Navy’s compression workout pants better then anyone else.  I wear my workout clothes everyday, everywhere.  They hold up to baby spit up, dog drool, house cleaning and so much in between.  Of course, they’re great for working out too.  If I had an unlimited budget I’d shop at Lululemon Athletica and Athleta more often.

Motivational motto/quote: (quote that moves you) Progress, not perfection

Your weekends are so action packed….Universal looks really fun and sometime we must check out the Harry Potter world there! Annie is great for motivation Monday. I need to get stronger in my upper body for running and this post made me realize that needs to be more of a priority!
