Monday’s Motivation #2

Happy Monday everyone!

And Happy “Yay you get to finally sleep in today” to all of the Dopey and Goofy runners from this past Walt Disney World Race Weekend 😉

Recaps from ALL of this weekend’s events will be up this week + make sure to link up last week’s workouts HERE!

Our Sunday after I got back from Disney was spent Celebrating:

Race recapping:

G was like “we need ANOTHER medal hanger!”
& Snuggling:
Oh how I missed this lil guy!
… not too shabby 😉

Today I have another Feature for Monday’s Motivation: Holly! She’s a fellow Sweatpink sister and runner who went from smoker and drinker to an Inspirational runner and athlete who focuses on balancing ALL of what life has to offer!

Name:   Holly Johnson

Motto/Inspirational Quote?
What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail? Girls compete with each other, women empower one another. You are worth it!
What is your favorite way to workout/exercise MOVE!
I am most passionate about running! When I am training, I sometimes forget to cross train, mainly because I am always so pressed for time, but when I do, I love Barre classes and Body Pump! I hope to add swimming back in to my routine after the New Year!

What is your #1 indulgence? Aside from the occasional treat, how do you substitute it?
Chocolate is my #1 must have. I really try to limit myself, and I try to eat dark chocolate, but my love is the milk chocolate and sometimes I cave, I just make sure not to over-do it!
What’s your go-to snack?
I love hummus with anything, and when I add Franks Hot sauce it reminds me of my favorite Buffalo Chicken dip, only healthier!
What advice do you have for those starting on a fitness journey?
First and foremost I think women struggle with believing that we are worth the time it takes to invest in the training, gear, etc. I believe it is so much better for us and our families if we are healthy and active. Another bit of advice is to decide if you are just interested or if you are committed and invested. There is truly a difference. Evaluate the situation and stand up for yourself and your commitment to being active. Involve your family if it works, know that you are worth the time away to train and enjoy the experience.
 Bucket list destination/race/to-do?
I really want to run in a Ragnar Relay race or an Ultra Marathon of some sort. The “where” is not nearly as important as just doing it and doing it with great friends who are there to empower each other and enjoy the experience.
Favorite inspirational fitness personality/trainer/idol?
I get inspiration from so many people and blogs that I am lucky enough to “know”. I am a huge fan of women who build their empire in fitness, and are there to empower all of us. I love Kelly Olexa and am grateful to be a part of Fitfluential.

What workout apparel is your MUST have?
I am a huge fan of all Oiselle brand clothing. I finally found workout clothes that are stylish, superb quality and that are flattering. I love buying their pieces and always include items on my “Wishlist” so that my wonderful husband can help me build my Oiselle wardrobe.
What do you wish you knew years ago that you know now?
I wish I had known how much better my life would be if I was active and quit the unhealthy habits that I had. I use to be a smoker and drinker, and I am so glad that my focus now is on health and family! My life is so much richer! I also wish I had focused more on how far I had come once I did start rather than on how far I had yet to go! It’s important to celebrate your victories along the way and to not compare yourself to others!
