Live without Regret

REGRETS. We should live life with NONE of them, right?

noragrets

NOT those RAGRETS … silly lol … but the FEELING of REGRET.

Technically speaking: a feeling of sadness, repentance, or disappointment over something that has happened or been done. Not something any of us want to feel – with that negative connotation who would want to?

ALAS – I have good news – We have the choice to NOT feel it! YAY!

Whenever we go through live we have the option to learn from our experiences, let that be good experiences or bad ones. Even the perception of “good or bad” as it relates to our experiences can be a decision we make ourselves.

I’ve always felt that each triumph or trail we go through, we should something from. We should take time to:

Remember what happened: Sometimes we can try to block things out so that we don’t think about them, but that only serves as a bandaid to the problem.

Reflect on ability to or not to control the situation: Was it a situation you were able to control? If so, what could have been adjusted on your end? If it’s not in your control, then you have to let it go. We can’t look into experiences and take them personally especially if they aren’t linked to us and our actions.

Take a lesson and move on: Is there one lesson you can takeaway from the situation? Hopefully so! We grow and evolve with our experiences, so lessons learned [especially when we’re able to assess that ourselves] are precious for that to continue. With that, put it in your mental filing cabinet and move on with life!

Easy enough, right?

Living your life feeling bad or letting thoughts eat at you isn’t a way to live! Regret and forgiveness go hand in hand most times.

I’ve come to accept that ALL my experiences have brought to where I am…which is a very good place! Everything needed to happen to bring me to this moment.
