Back when I was still pregnant with Baby K, I started Beachbody’s newest workout program called Core de Force!
Developed by Beachbody’s newest celebrity trainers Joel Freeman and Jericho McMatthews, Core De Force is meant to be the FIGHTER’S WORKOUT with modifications and moves meant to shape the core from all angles! In this workout program, you get to take on BOXING, KICKBOXING, and MUAY THAI in 3-minute rounds. The workouts are broken into 3-minute “rounds”—just like a real boxing match. Using fight combinations and bodyweight moves you test your coordination, skill, and strength + there’s a fat-blasting cardio spike in every round. Unlike basic ab moves, each move in Core De Force is “rotational”.Every second works your core from 360 degrees—to help tighten your midsection and trim fat off your belly fast.
Well, when I was pregnant I worked to get to know the moves and modify a lot, but couldn’t get the FULL benefit of core rotational moves since there was a baby in there!
When I was released to workout, I made sure to start all over again!
Armed with my baby monitor, and planning early workouts between 5-6am when Baby K was in her last stretch of nighttime sleep, I was ready to take it on again!
I loved the workouts! I see the program as a “Fighter’s program” where you have to dial into your mental strength and physical strength to finish! I loved taking each morning workout to work on my combinations with Joel and Jericho while I sweat everywhere! I understood how to use my core to rotate and punch and kick my heart out!
I also had to really focus on my nutrition also. Hubby and I got back to Food prep so that he and I both had lunches ready to go amidst the craziness and were fueling our fights properly. We had to get off of my ‘Pregnancy freedom diet’ and alleviate processed sugars the most while adding in more lean proteins and veggies. I also stopped dairy because of the baby’s sensitive tummy, so switched to Vegan Shakeology.
Baby and I also got sick towards weeks 3 and 4, so I had to take some days off. I was determined to finish what I started, though, as I was journalling my journey on social media to document my post-baby comeback!
I started on my birthday: December 10. 2016 and finished on January 12, 2017!
I’ve enjoyed Core De Force. My results weren’t mostly physical, they were internal! I am still only 2 months postpartum, so continue to need to work on my core strength — this was the program that helped me get started with that! I was able to do something I never did before – MMA and Jiu Jitsu anyone? I pushed and made sure to finish what I started even with lack of sleep, crying baby, and a whole new life as a mama!
So what now?
I get to work on my hybrid plan for next month to incorporate more strength and core stability – stay tuned!
