New Mom Journal: Week 25

Day 177 – My kids motivate me

These two did so great their first road trip and vacation with us all together! It’s truly special to have a fur baby who has blended right into our family after losing my little Jaeden almost two years ago.
Yes, Tayler has always been one of my kids too. He’s the main reason I tested to see if I was pregnant because he wouldn’t leave me alone and I knew something was up!

It warms my heart to see them “play” together and to see how baby K is enamored by her big brother. I hope he’s ready for her because she’s starting to try to crawl and move!

Day 178 – Vacations don’t have to derail us!

It’s back to life, back to reality for us as this Tuesday is our Monday after Sedona! I was a little anxious to see what happened on the scale, but then again I wasn’t! I didn’t gain 1 lb (which isn’t the case on most of my vacations) and we did an awesome job with balance even with a kiddo and dog in tow!

After getting back, I knew to do quick food prep in the crockpot so Gary had lunches ready and for us to get our sh** back together with chores and the usual.

I’ll be going Live to talk about how I make sure to balance the 80/20 lifestyle on vacation to not derail my progress even when enjoying a new city!

Day 179 – Running for new reasons

After having sore PiYo legs, this mornings 3ish mile run was rough. I just kept remembering to finish as strong as I could, embrace the fresh air and solo time, and to see where this mom bod would take me!

It’s not about speed or paces now.

Besides, I always have my biggest cheerleader waiting for me at the finish line 🤗

Day 181 – Workout clothes all day long!

I can’t tell you how happy I am to be back in all of my workout clothes! I just bought some when I found out I was pregnant and those quickly tightened around my growing hips!

Sometimes I think it’s because I came from working in an office for almost 15 years, but I LOVE feeling comfortable in sneakers and stretchy clothes. It’s like my “new uniform” as a stay at home mama who throws in fitness and training and coaching as her part time gig! I can play around with colors still and get all matchy matchy and have my new “sporty mom style.” I can throw in a 30 minute INSANITY workout while she naps just to get some feel-good vibes working!

.. I mean, K gets to wear onesies so it’s only fair.

Besides, I had to try out my new Brooks RunningPure Cadence 6 that came in the mail yesterday!

Stay tuned for a guest blog I’ve written for their blog at about coming back to running post-baby! 💜

Day 181 – I’m 6 months old today!!

My little girl is growing WAY TOO FAST but I’m loving every step of this journey with her!

Baby K 💜‘s:
Sweet potatoes
Meeting new friends
Being observant
Figuring it out on her own

Baby K milestones:
Rolling from belly to back and back to belly on her own.
Sitting up on her own.
Making vowel sounds.
Eating stage 1 and 2 foods.
Showing super baby strength.
Napping & sleeping (most of the time) like a champ in her crib.
