Why the Hydration Hype: What Water Does in Our Bodies + a Takeya Water Bottle Giveaway

We’ve heard it all for years now.


Hydration is a huge puzzle piece in the game of health and fitness. It’s a known fact that you need to take in the minimal required amount of water needed in a day to see gains in your fitness journey; no matter if you are working to lose weight or gain weight or maintain progress.


I’m the inquisitive one for sure who always wants to know the WHY behind the what. I worked with a trainer in the beginning of my weight loss journey and was told to drink half of my weight in ounces in water – that hydration was important if I wanted to lose weight. I did it; I complied. So, we should just hydrate.


The trick to staying hydrated, and not over-hydrated I might add, is to rely on no one other than ourselves to provide said water. Having the perfect water bottle can show us how much we’re drinking and also leave no excuses why we can’t get to the source quickly.

    I try to monitor by how I feel (especially if I feel a headache coming on and thirsty). I also use specific bottles and drink it cold but it helps me monitor by how many times I have to fill it! (by the way the link to your facebook page doesn’t work- I found it by searching but the link says page not found)

    I actually record my water intake in My Fitness Pal to make sure I am getting 80-128 ounces of H2O a day.

    😳 I just don’t buy anything to drink except tea, milk, and Zevia (occasionally like when we have pizza because you have to have root beer with pizza!). 🍕

    I am really bad about drinking water at work because I don’t often get enough potty breaks 😳, but I am trying to do better. I am definitely better when the water is cold, so I am sure this bottle would help!!!!

    breastfeeding / Marathon training / wife / being a mom to three kids – I try to keep a bottle of water available to me 24 hours a day! I’ve recently been using a Tervis, but it’s “only” 24 ounces, so I’ve been looking for a great water bottle that would hold more water! <3

    I keep a water bottle with me to help with hydration. A big draw-back that I’m realizing during our SoCal heatwave this week it that my bottle isn’t insulated! I do enjoy room temperature water; however, I do not enjoy hot water! Which is what tends to happen when I’m in the car picking up kiddos from school.

    I am almost always drinking something, usually water, tea or coffee. I try to always drink a bottle of water after exercising and a couple more throughout the day. Just having the habits keeps me well-hydrated most of the time. I forget when I get out of routine and usually pay for it with a headache and/or fatigue later.
