Life as a new mom comes with its fair share of amazing moments along with the challenges you face each day. Sometimes the biggest challenge of all can be making time to work on our mom bod.
I know what its like to be in a fog. I remember sleeping for 2-3 hours max at a time. There were days that I kept pushing back my workout because I just didn’t have the energy.
It took until around Months 4+ for me to find a rhythm. My little one started sleeping more, and so did my husband and I. We started to find our NEW NORMAL.
We’ve settled into a life, now, where we know our roles:
- Business Professionals
- Husband and Wife
Each of these roles deserves quality time so hone in on the skills that go with it. Fitness is at the core of who my husband Gary and I are as individuals; it’s been that way since Day 1. I learned to be patient with myself as well as with him for us both to find our way back after having K. She’s become out biggest cheerleader and also my biggest motivation. I want her to see that if she sticks to something, consistently, she WILL see success and a result in the end. I don’t want her to take the shortcut or find the easy way out because this mama knows there there is NONE.
HARD WORK – and CONSISTENT EFFORT – pays off every time. It doesn’t mean that you have to be dripping in sweat after each workout nor that they will be easy to come by. There are days I have to take my workout in increments of 5-10 minutes because … well, she’s the boss. No matter what, it gets done. Even in chunks.

My The First Steps Towards Losing the Baby Weight” Series HERE
Whether I am a trainer or just an average person trying to get their fitness back after a baby, I do know one thing: if it were easy everyone would do it. It takes a certain amount of craziness inside of one’s self to push in the hard moments. There are many days I JUST DON’T WANNA. I just have to remember that the extra 45 minutes of sleep or the extra bite of cheesecake isn’t worth it in the end. My confidence isn’t just for me, it’s for me to BE the best I can for those around me who deserve me at my best.
