About Katrina

You can call me Katrina or Kat. I’m a human, parent, nurturer, and educator living life while experiencing life all at the same time.

Growing up as “the only” I realized quickly how to innately discover ways to fit into various circles of influence with common threads from a unique perspective. Venturing into corporate life, I developed a passion for work with diversity, equity, and inclusion as a means of enhancing the experiences of those working within an organization. I now work in the space of using my mix of skills as a means to unify humans in the realm of finding common ground and understanding how implicit bias and systemic classism form division instead of unification in fitness and in our world.

I live my life by remembering daily to live with INTENT to pay forward a LEGACY, not just exist day to day. My daughter is my reason for always speaking my truth unapologetically. She is my WHY for continuing to evolve with my career in an effort to keep learning while I also teach. I want her to always look up to her mom knowing she stood up for what is right.

What do you want your legacy to be?

Katrina Pilkington is a global wellness educator bridging gaps with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion through coaching as an adaptable champion of change. Her goal is to lead her community by example and relatability to shift the culture in wellness to be one of belonging and accessible means. Katrina has a passion for working with others to find their deeper purpose in life through self-care, starting with a foundation of humility.

Katrina is a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Specialist, Health and Nutrition Coach, Group Fitness Instructor, and Wellness Educator also studying to complete her Master of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion to focus on issues related to Health Equity. She holds a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and the University of South Florida. She also has an Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design and is a content creator and host of various video series online.

Katrina was inspired to change careers after her own humbling experience battling poor health and weight issues stemming from inaccessibility to resources. She transitioned from a 15-year background in corporate management leading diverse teams towards a career in wellness to support her community with inclusive leadership in the wellness space. She also is passionate about educating around diversity, inclusion, and equity for all in the work that she does with implicit bias and building human connection through authentic experience. 

She has worked as a group fitness coordinator in multiple studios, has mentored and trained over 500 group fitness professionals and leaders, and has spoken at numerous digital and in-person conferences on various wellness and DEI topics.

Katrina is a member of the National Society for Leadership and Success (Alpha Sigma Pi), an Action for Healthy Kids Ambassador, a Women in Fitness Association (WIFA) Global Ambassador, an EDI Consultant for multiple brands and organizations, a Health Chair for the Hillsborough County NAACP Chapter, a Contributor for Oxygen Magazine, Founding Member of WRKiiT, an ACE Pro and Subject Matter Expert, and Chair of the Equity and Inclusion Board with IDEA Health and Fitness Association.

  1. I HATE scary movies, EXCEPT anything Zombie-related – they make me laugh like it’s no one’s business! However, I’ll never join you in a scary haunted house. Nope. 

  2. I LOVE MOVING CONSTANTLY. You can call me a BUSY BODY. Movement brings JOY to me.

  3. I’ll always invest in EXPERIENCES > THINGS. Memories are magical.

  4. I never played organized sports nor did anything truly active until I hit 30. I was pretty introverted most of my life until I got into fitness! It was my outlet.

  5. I never imagined would become a mother chasing around a little human parrot, but here I am!
